Support Saint Ann’s Catholic Church

Dear Archbishop Lori,

Father Greg Boyle, S.J., the founder of Homeboy Industries, says, “Everything that counts can’t be counted.” He then says, “There is a difference between producing outcomes and chasing them. How do we manage to measure success not in dollars but in change?”

The work of the social justice committee at St. Ann’s, more specifically, Ralph Moor, Delores Moore, and Mary Sewell, has driven change. Because of their work, people across the United States are now aware of the stories of the Saintly Six and their steadfast faith, perseverance, and their enduring love even in the face of Catholic brothers and sisters who refused to recognize their human dignity and worth because of their African American heritage. These saints-in-waiting are examples for all of us, not only Black Catholics, and because of Saint Ann’s work, I am grateful to know we have these holy men and women to whom we can aspire.

No monetary sum can be placed on the value of Saint Ann’s evangelization efforts of the Saintly Six. Please keep Saint Ann’s open and allow the Holy Spirit to continue to move in her and through her.

In Christ’s peace,
